Narrative

Students earning an associate degree in Sport Management will gain solid business knowledge and industry-specific skills designed to prepare them for careers in sport, including intercollegiate and interscholastic athletics, professional sports, recreation and community-based organizations, corporate brands, and governing bodies. The curriculum develops key industry competencies in marketing, sales and revenue generation, event and facility management, and business communication.

The sport industry continues to grow as a global, multi-billion-dollar field spanning professional sports, collegiate athletics, recreation, esports, and entertainment. Careers extend beyond the field of play into areas such as marketing, public relations, finance, sponsorship, and operations. Because the industry is highly competitive, many students use the associate degree as a pathway to either immediate entry-level employment or transfer to a four-year institution for expanded opportunities.

The Sport Management program emphasizes professionalism, personal branding, networking, and experiential learning. Students build skills through classroom instruction supported by guest speakers, applied projects, and internship experiences.
