1. Analyze, plan, design, and document IT network specifications to build a corporate network supporting WLAN, LAN, WAN, VoIP and cloud technologies.
2. Understand layered models (including TCP/IP and OSI) for communications standards and protocols.
3. Install, configure, secure, and manage servers and networking hardware including routers and switches.
4. Troubleshoot and evaluate common problems; document and implement appropriate network connectivity solutions.
5. Execute basic security, access control and other policies within the networking architecture.
