Degree Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have completed the following courses:

  • High school biology with a lab or BIOS 115* with a grade of “B” or better.

  • High school chemistry with a lab with a grade of “B” or better. Alternatively, successful completion of CHEM 135*.

Applicants must be eligible to enroll in the following course based on prerequisites and/or placement criteria:

  • ENGL 101

Applicants must meet the GPA requirement associated with their current enrollment category:

  • Students who have completed any number of college credits

    • A cumulative college GPA of 2.7 or higher in both science and non-science program-specific courses.

  • High school students without college credits

    • A cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.

* An equivalent course from another college may satisfy this requirement.

Important Note

DENH is a competitive admission program. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Applicants who are denied admission will be placed in the Health Sciences program of study to complete general education courses applicable to the DENH degree, allowing them to reapply.

Coursework Considered in Admissions Review

While not required, applicants who have completed one or more of the program-specific general education courses prior to applying may have those grades included in the admissions review. A minimum grade of C is required for any of these courses to be considered. Courses may also be reviewed with attention to whether they were completed successfully on the first attempt
