Residential Interior Design Studio

Description

In this course, students will learn how to assemble and harmonize furniture and decorative objects from the point of view of utility and beauty. They will analyze furniture arrangement and room composition, draperies and window treatments, and lighting. Students will work through practical problems illustrating the requirements of certain types of residential rooms. The incorporation of the computer will be used as a design tool. Students will prepare written research and design position papers on assigned design problems and their solutions. Offered Fall semester only.
