Why study Emergency Services at NCC?
Northampton Community College's Emergency Services program provides graduates with the chance to make a positive impact on their community. With four different associate degree options available, you can specialize in the area that best suits your interests. Whether you are training to become a firefighter, an EMT, or an emergency services administration professional, NCC's learning environment is tailored to fit your career path. Our classes feature a low student-to-instructor ratio, which allows you to learn directly from our experienced faculty. Our Bethlehem campus also features on-campus housing, allowing Emergency Services students more convenient access to our programs as well as promoting a sense of camaraderie with fellow students to prepare you for the relationships you'll develop in your profession. Each program is offered at our Bethlehem Campus as well as online.
What You'll Learn
Earning an emergency services degree will train you to respond safely and effectively to a natural disaster, public health threat, or other emergency situation. You’ll learn various aspects of emergency response, including interoperability, emergency response information technology, nationally recognized guidelines and standards, mitigation, preparedness, decision-making skills and recovery operations. You’ll gain an understanding of the ethical, moral, and legal issues associated with emergency response environments and how to apply these concepts to expected behavior. By graduation, you'll have the professional techniques you need to meet the challenges in your specific area.
