The Five-Year IBEW Apprenticeship Program offers qualifying applicants occupational education under the sponsorship of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local #375). The program provides an in-depth study of electrical fundamentals, wiring techniques, and the National Electrical Code applicable to residential, commercial and industrial installations.
Electrical construction involves the installation, wiring and testing of electrical equipment in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
The need for good electrical maintenance technicians is strong as industry continues to automate its processes to stay competitive. Northampton’s program provides an in-depth study of electrical fundamentals, wiring techniques, and the National Electrical Code that is applicable to residential, commercial and industrial installations. We prepare our students to sit for municipal (PA) and state (NJ) electrician’s license exams.
Northampton’s Electromechanical Technology Automated Systems program curriculum was developed with the assistance of many of the areas leading manufacturers and engineering firms. The program meets the demands of local and national manufacturers for entry-level employees who have broad-based hands-on skills.
The program integrates comprehensive electronic circuit theory with practical hands-on lab work.
Emergency Services administrators are the managers who are charged with providing fire, police, emergency medical services and more. This program and course content has been developed to mesh with concepts established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and local emergency planning committees.
Emergency Services Technology graduates are trained to carry out safely and effectively the difficult and dangerous duties of saving lives and property. A number of program electives are available to allow students to select and focus on their area of personal interest.
For those whose goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering, NCC’s program can be an affordable and convenient way to get started. Many graduates transfer and complete degrees at Lehigh and Drexel Universities, Lafayette College, Penn State, Rutgers, Northeastern and other engineering schools.
