Aseptic Processing

NCC’s program prepares students to start or grow a career in the expanding field of aseptic (ultra-clean) production immediately upon graduation. The region’s leading biopharmaceutical and biomanufacturing firms helped develop our program and its state-of-the-art ISO Class 7 clean room.

Automation Control in Biomanufacturing

The Automation Control in Biomanufacturing Specialized Diploma focuses on the practical applications of electromechanical concepts and process control in the highly-regulated production facilities of biomanufacturers and biopharmaceutical companies.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography

The employment outlook in diagnostic medical sonography continues to be strong. Northampton offers both an associate degree and specialized diploma. Our sonography program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in collaboration with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS).

Electrical Construction Technology IBEW

The Five-Year IBEW Apprenticeship Program offers qualifying applicants occupational education under the sponsorship of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local #375). The program provides an in-depth study of electrical fundamentals, wiring techniques, and the National Electrical Code applicable to residential, commercial and industrial installations.

Electrical Construction Technology

Electrical construction involves the installation, wiring and testing of electrical equipment in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

Electrical Technology

The need for good electrical maintenance technicians is strong as industry continues to automate its processes to stay competitive. Northampton’s program provides an in-depth study of electrical fundamentals, wiring techniques, and the National Electrical Code that is applicable to residential, commercial and industrial installations. We prepare our students to sit for municipal (PA) and state (NJ) electrician’s license exams.

Electromechanical Technology

Northampton’s Electromechanical Technology Automated Systems program curriculum was developed with the assistance of many of the areas leading manufacturers and engineering firms. The program meets the demands of local and national manufacturers for entry-level employees who have broad-based hands-on skills.

Electronics Technology

The program integrates comprehensive electronic circuit theory with practical hands-on lab work.

Emergency Services Administration

Emergency Services administrators are the managers who are charged with providing fire, police, emergency medical services and more. This program and course content has been developed to mesh with concepts established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and local emergency planning committees.

Emergency Services Technology (EMT)

Emergency Services Technology graduates are trained to carry out safely and effectively the difficult and dangerous duties of saving lives and property. A number of program electives are available to allow students to select and focus on their area of personal interest.

For those whose goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering, NCC’s program can be an affordable and convenient way to get started. Many graduates transfer and complete degrees at Lehigh and Drexel Universities, Lafayette College, Penn State, Rutgers, Northeastern and other engineering schools.

Fine Art

The program provides students with a thorough introduction to the basic areas of study in the visual arts. After completing the program, students will have prepared a portfolio of their work for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate program (B.A. or B.F.A.) at a college, university or art school.

Northampton’s Funeral Service Education program prepares students to work in the funeral home setting by providing the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to the practice of funeral service.

General Studies

Honors Program

The Honors Program at Northampton Community College provides an enriched educational environment in which students will be challenged to reach their full intellectual potential and to better prepare themselves for the academic demands of the four-year college or university of their choice.

Hotel/Restaurant Management - A.A.S. Degree

NCC’s Resort Management program teaches students basic resort, club and lodging operations, resort specialty subjects, hospitality management and marketing, guest services, food and beverage management. The program emphasizes the basic tenants of guest service, leadership, communication, teamwork and problem solving.

Hotel/Restaurant Management - Casino Operations

Courses in the Casino Operations Management Diploma program cover a broad spectrum of the gaming and casino industry. Graduates gain knowledge and experience that prepares them for a supervisory or management career path in many operational areas of the casino and gaming industry.

Hotel/Restaurant Management - Dining Room Operations

The Dining Room Operations diploma includes broad training in all aspects of restaurant management including front of the house business, supervisory duties and convention services/catering operations.

Hotel/Restaurant Management - Resort Management

The Resort Management diploma prepares the student to efficiently and adequately deal with the guest services and managerial challenges faced in the resort, club, food and beverage and hotel operations.

Individualized Transfer Studies

Even if Northampton’s extensive selection of degree programs doesn’t include your intended major, you can still begin your studies here. The Individualized Transfer Studies option is intended for students who have identified a major they want to study at a four-year institution. The program allows students to pre-plan a program of to fulfill general distribution requirements and other courses that are transferable to the four-year institution.

Interior Design

NCC’s Interior Design program has been carefully organized to meet the demand for professionally trained interior designers in both residential and commercial design. With an associate’s degree, graduates may gain employment upon graduation or transfer for a four-year degree.

Journalism

If your career goal is to become a working journalist, you will need to pursue a bachelor’s degree, but starting with an associate’s degree program can be cost-effective and convenient. Our journalism students are expected to participate in the college newspaper, The Commuter, focusing on the community, both the College community, and the surrounding area.

Legal Administrative Assistant

This program prepares graduates to accept the responsibilities and challenges expected of a skilled administrative assistant in the legal work environment. Graduates are hired by area law firms, insurance companies, title companies, large corporations, and government agencies.

Legal Office Specialist

The programs offer career-specific course work for the students wishing to complete their studies within two semesters. This program prepares graduates for the responsibilities and challenges expected of a skilled administrative assistant in a legal work environment. Students gain proficiency in technology, human relations, time management and organizational skills.

Liberal Arts

The Liberal Arts program offers students who intend to seek a Bachelor of Arts degree a solid foundation in both general education and a selected field of concentration. Concentrations include English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Women's and Gender Studies.

Library Technical Assistant

Northampton’s convenient online program focuses particularly on information resources, services for children and management of small public libraries. Courses address technical skills in such vital areas as acquisitions, electronic formats and cataloging of all types of materials.

Marketing

Marketing is a creative field that includes numerous career paths. NCC’s program is designed to provide students with the marketing skills needed to enter into the fields of marketing, advertising, public relations, sales, retail management, media planning, customer service or e-marketing upon graduation.

Medical Administrative Assistant

This program prepares students to accept the responsibilities and challenges expected of a skilled administrative assistant in the vast professional medical field. Graduates gain proficiency in technology, communication, human relations, time management and organizational skills, decision-making, and creative thinking.

Medical Assistant

Northampton developed its Medical Assistant specialized diploma program in response to requests from physicians who were looking for workers trained in both office and clinical skills.

Medical Billing

Northampton’s two-semester Medical Billing Specialist program, offered at both the Main and Monroe campuses, was designed with the advice of area medical professionals to be more than an overview. Graduates understand coding concepts, methodologies, and the process of medical/health service reimbursement.

Medical Office Specialist

Are you interested in gaining employment in the medical office setting in a short time frame? This program will prepare you for the responsibilities and challenges expected of a skilled administrative assistant in a medical work environment.

Mortuary Science

Northampton’s Funeral Service Education program prepares students to work in the funeral home setting by providing the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to the practice of funeral service.

Multimedia

Multimedia production involves the creation of audio, video and interactive applications (including games) for the Internet. This specialized diploma program consists of two courses taught in the College’s state-of-the-art multimedia lab and includes hands-on instruction using the latest hardware and software.

Nanofabrication Manufacturing Technology

While it was first used in the semiconductor (computer chip) industry, nanofabrication technologies are now used for a wide variety of applications. Northampton’s degee program prepares graduates for employment as entry-level nanofabrication technicians.

Radio/TV

Northampton's Radio/TV program is a highly creative course of study that allows students to explore their potential in communicating ideas through the use of electronic media. Graduates gain practical hands-on experience in the College TV studio and media lab, in the recording studio, on a student produced cable TV show and radio show, and with local area broadcasters and businesses.

Radiography

As a radiographer, you are a member of a medical team that pinpoints an injury or even catches cancer early. Radiologists rely on their radiographers to produce optimum images for accurate interpretation. NCC’s Radiography program is innovative, educationally sound, and vital in providing medical imaging services for the community-at-large.

Real Estate

Northampton's Real Estate program is a special evening program approved by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission. After successfully completing the courses Real Estate Fundamentals and Real Estate Practice, students will qualify to sit for the state real estate salesperson license.

Small Business Management

The program is designed specifically for small business owners and managers, or potential owners and managers. The program can be completed in a year and can be completed online for added convenience.

Social Work

Because most positions in the field of social work require a bachelor’s degree, Northampton’s Social Work program is an affordable beginning to your baccalaureate degree. Our program transfers to many schools of social work in the region, including Cedar Crest College, Alvernia College, Kutztown University, Marywood University, and Misericordia University.

Sport Management

For every professional player or coach you see on the court, the sports industry employs thousands more people off the court. Graduates can earn an associate’s degree from Northampton after four semesters of full-time study and enter the workforce at the entry level, however to be the most competitive job candidate possible, a bachelor’s degree in the field is recommended.

Sports Medicine: Athletic Training

The Associate in Science degree in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Athletic Training is designed to prepare students to successfully transfer to a four year CAATE accredited athletic training program.

Theatre

Northampton’s production-oriented program is designed to prepare acting/directing majors and design/technical theatre majors interested in continuing on for their baccalaureate degree. It can also serve as the first two years of a bachelor’s degree in theatre education.

Ultrasound Technician

Veterinary Technician

With more Americans than ever sharing their homes with companion animals, the need for formally trained veterinary technicians in veterinarian practices in particular continues to grow. Northampton’s program provides academic and practical experiences. One-third of veterinary technology courses include laboratory experience including exposure to small, large and exotic animal species.

Web Development

The Web Development Program combines the courses necessary for web design with the courses required for programming for the web. Graduates are equipped with the skills to qualify for positions such as web developer, web programmer, web designer, interactive web developer, web application developer, and director of web services.

Web Site Design

This specialized diploma 16-credit program provides hands-on training in designing compelling and functional web sites. The program is taught in NCC’s state-of-the-art Apple computer labs. Graduates design at least one fully functional web site to be used as a portfolio piece.
